61% cent of German Internet users go online at least once a day
The Internet has gained a fixed place in the everyday life of the Germans: 61 per cent of German Internet users go online at least once a day, almost half (48%) even several times a day.
The majority (56%) feels safe in the Internet. The Internet’s great importance is revealed above all by the fact that more than half (52%) even of those who do not feel safe, go online at least once a day.
One important criterion for web users is access: the easier and more convenient it is to access the Internet, the more often those questioned use it. While only 44% of surfers with a cable-linked connection go online several times a day, this figure rises among mobile Internet users with smartphones to 91%. Those who surf a lot tend to use a combination of different access variants: on the move, they surf on their smartphone or notebook, at home they use a private W-LAN or a stationary connection.
